Mepilex consists of a flexible and absorbent polyurethane foam pad, coated with a permeable micro-adherent layer and a moisture vapor permeable, waterproof film backing. Like many product from Mölnlycke Health Care, it features Safetac® Technology, a revolutionary hydrophobic silicone coating technology which allows the dressing to be applied, removed, and reapplied with minimal discomfort for the patient, no disturbance of the wound site, and no disruption of the healing process. The absorbent properties of the foam, combined with Safetac® layer over the periwound area, provides comfortable absorption for the patient.
