Mefilm (MEE-film) is a flexible, transparent, breathable film dressing made of polyurethane. The dressing adheres well, but is very easy to remove without damaging the surrounding skin. It can be used as a fixation dressing and may be left in place for several days. Mefilm is user-friendly and easy to apply.
How Mefilm benefits the Physician:
  • high moisture vapor transfer rate; allows exudate to vent, which decreases the risk of pooling therefore minimizing maceration
  • can be used as fixation dressing over alginates
  • can be overlapped and repositioned for use on large wound areas
  • may be left in place several days
